Senior Section

The Senior Section of the Guide Association is for young women from 14 to 25 years old.

Rangers

Girls belong to Rangers from the age of 14 - they organise their own activities, often with the Venture Scouts. A new Ranger unit started in South Woodham in October meeting on a Wednesday night. There are lots of exciting activities planned up to Christmas. If you would like to find out about the Rangers then please send an email to District Commissioner.

Young Leaders

Girls between the age of 14 to 16 years old follow a leadership training scheme called Making It Count. Over the age of 16 there is the Guide Association Leadership Scheme. Young Leaders gain practical experience at unit meetings by organising games and activities. They can also meet other Young Leaders in the area at group meetings.

In SWF we have several Young Leaders who help on a regular basis at unit meetings.

International Opportunities

There are many opportunities for older Guides and members of the Senior Section to participate in International activities. Over recent years Young Leaders and Guides have been selected to go to Namibia in West Africa (2002), Sweden (2003), Finland and Germany (2004), Holland (2005), World Jamboree in 2007.
